MERIN, Alfred John (Al)


Alfred John Merin (Al), 87, born December 8, 1915 in Brooklyn, NY and left this life June 19, 2003. He moved to Arizona in 1963 with his son John, and his wife Frances who preceded him in death in 1967. He took pride in his service in the US Navy and was in the Amico Club and Knights of Columbus. With his son John, he was owner of King Balancing and will be remembered for his many years as an usher at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral. His sense of humor and love of his family will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Sandy, of 31 years, children Barbara Gaynor, and John (Sharon) Merin of Phoenix. Grandchildren Karen Johnson of Coronado, CA, Samantha & Italia Merin of Phoenix. Great-grandchildren ToniAnn & Alex Johnson of Coronado, CA. Brother Sal Merin of Glendale, AZ and sisters, Margaret Brutza & Ann Landro of NY. Visitation will be Sunday, June 22, 2003 at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd., from 6:00-8:00 P.M. with Rosary at 7 P.M. Funeral Mass will be at 8:30 A.M., Monday, June 23rd at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Ave., followed by burial in the Mausoleum at St. Francis Cemetery.
