ADKINS, Hazel Louise

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona February 5, 2003 Hazel Louise Adkins She was born Oct. 4, 1925 to William and Clara Ladd Castle and lived in Monteagle, Tennessee, until moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee at age 16. In 1951 she met and married Albert Adkins and were happily married for 45 years. Albert died in 1996. She worked as a furniture finisher while living in Los Angeles. Hazel moved to Arizona to live with her daughter and son-in-law in April of 2000. She was a very loving mother grandmother, was a member of Cooper Heights Church of God in Chickamauga, Georgia. She enjoyed working, taking care of her family and helping others. She is survived by her children; Rachel and Davey Begay of Concho Valley, Grant and Nancy White of Rushville, Indiana; grandson, Paul Arnold of Quail Valley, California; four other grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Adkins. Funeral services were held at the Cooper Heights Church of God in Chickamauga, Georgia with Brother Kenneth Oliver officiating. She was laid to rest next to her husband at Chattanooga Memorial Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Hazel's family requests that donations be made in her name to RTA Hospice, 5658 Hwy 260, Suite 5, Lakeside, AZ 85929. Arrangements are under the direction of Fletcher's Mortuary of Show Low.
