DOWNES, Alda D.

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 15, 1993. Alda D. Downes of Wickenburg died Sept. 11, 1993, in Wickenburg. She was 67. Mrs. Downes was born April 2, 1926, in Hermanie, Pennsylvania, and had lived in Arizona for six years, moving here from Penn. She was a medical technician for many years, sterilizing operating room instruments. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needlepoint and indoor gardening. She also enjoyed carpentry and woodworking with her husband, Norman. Mrs. Downes is survived by her husband of 27 years, Norman Downes; sons, Norman Downes, Jr., of Aurora, Colorado, Keith Downes of Denver, CO, and Elmer Parker of Libertyboro, PA; daughter Connie Downes of Somerset, PA; two grandchildren and her very close friend Rosemary Stanley of Wickenburg. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Isabelle Dodds. Private services will be held and interment will be at Phoenix Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice. Frey Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
