GATES, Helen B.

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 15, 1993. Helen B. Gates of Youngtown died Sept. 8, 1993, at Camelot Hospice. She was 81. She was born August 19, 1912, in Oklahoma City, Okla., and had lived in Arizona for 20 years, moving here from New York. Helen was an accountant all of her adult life. She loved knitting and crocheting and had the ability to lay out patterns with only the aid of a photograph. She was best known in the Wickenburg area through her activities and involvement with the Wickenburg Chapter of the American Cancer Society for many years. She is survived by her close friend Marty Schlagel of Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents W. A. and Mary Gates. There will be no local services. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Coxsackie, N. Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Wickenburg Unit, P. O. Box 1975, Wickenburg, AZ 85358. Frey Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
