SHAW, Virgil Lunt

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 15, 1993. Virgil Lunt Shaw of Wickenburg, died Sept. 11, 1993, at the Wickenburg Community Hospital. He was 88. Mr. Shaw was born July 4, 1905, in Granville, Iowa, and had lived in Arizona for 22 years. He was a farmer in his early life, raised his family in Iowa,. He later owned and operated Shaw Resthaven Nursing Home in Newton, Iowa, for 14 years. He and his family lived there until 1973 when they moved to Wickenburg. Virgil retired from A.S.U. in Sept. 1973 where he had worked as a custodian. While living in Wickenburg, he worked at Wickenburg Community Hospital and Rancho Grande. Mr. Shaw is survived by his son, Monty Shaw, of Tempe; daughter Mary Ellen Ream of Phoenix; sister Dorritt Cranson of Newton, Iowa; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Ester in 1983. Services will be held today, Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1993, at 10:00 a.m. at Wickenburg Funeral. Interment will be at Wickenburg Cemetery, Reverend Nelson Dorr will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wise Owl Senior Center, P. O. Box 1531, Wickenburg, AZ 85358. Wickenburg Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
