Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona July 7, 1983 An 11 year old Vulture Peak Junior High School student was killed Sunday morning outside of McLean, Texas, in a fall from a moving vehicle. Dead is Johnny Lee Dunaway, son of Jesse and Terry Dunaway, of Wickenburg. The Dunaways were enroute to Cambridge City, Ind., for a vacation when the youth either fell or stepped of the station wagon they were traveling in, into the path of a following vehicle. Texas state troopers were not certain how the 5:15 a.m. accident occurred. Dunaway was taken to the Lamb Funeral Home in McLean, Texas, and then sent to the Howard and Sun Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City where funeral arrangements are still pending. ------------------- Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona July 14, 1983, page 16 Johnny Lee Dunaway, 11, of Wickenburg died early Sunday morning, July 3, in Grey County, Texas, as a result of an automobile accident. He was a fifth grade student at Vulture Peak School and he had been involved in many outdoor sports. Johnny was born in Richmond, Ind., on March 18, 1972. He had lived near the Cambridge City area in Indiana until he moved to Wickenburg in 1973. Johnny is survived by his parents, Jesse James and Terry Dunaway of Wickenburg; his two brothers, Franklin and James; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Dunaway of Milton, Ind.; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Jessie Cowin also of Milton, Ind.; his great-grandfather, John Ames of Sunland, Ind., and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The calling was on July 6 at Howard and Son Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City, Ind. Graveside services were July 7 at south Lawn Cemetery in Dublin, Ind. Rev. Bud Parrish of First Assembly of God officiated the burial.
