Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona September 1, 1983 A 16-year-old Wickenburg High student was killed in a one-car accident on Hayes Ranch Road in Peeples Valley Friday night. Yarnell resident Gerri Lynn Dawson was pronounced dead on the scene from injuries she sustained after she was ejected from a vehicle driven by Ty Frank Lampe, 18, also of Yarnell, at approximately 10:45 p.m. Friday. A Yavapai Sheriff’s Department representative said the vehicle was westbound on Hayes Ranch Road when the driver apparently lost control both persons were ejected and the vehicles landed on the young Yarnell woman. Lampe was transported to Wickenburg Community Hospital by the Wickenburg Ambulance Service with cuts and abrasions, the representative said. Dawson was transported to the Yavapai County Hospital. Circumstances involving the accident ware still under investigation by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office and no citations have been issued to date. ------------------- Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona September 1, 1983 Gerri Lynn Dawson, of Yarnell, died Aug. 26 at the age of 16 as the result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Gerri was born Oct. 15, 1966, in Georgetown, Ohio. She had been a resident in Arizona for nine years, seven in Yarnell. She attended elementary school in Yarnell and high school at Wickenburg High School. Survivors are her parents, Walter and Margaret Dawson; two sister, Sheila and Tina; one brother, Walter II, all of Yarnell; her paternal grandparents, Warren and Grace Sargent, of Lakeland, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Richard and Lucy Davis, of Felicity, Ohio. Visitation was Monday evening, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Graveside services were Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. at Genung Memorial Cemetery in Peeples Valley. Arrangements were made by Hampton Funeral Home in Prescott.
