Donavan C. Michelsen, 83, a loving husband and father, a retired state worker, a Machinist by trade, born in Bismark, N.D., 8/16/1919, a resident of AZ for 40 years, passed into GOD's hands on 11/25/02.
He spent his childhood school years in Wilton, N.D., volunteered in the Navy, August 1939. He was a survivor of the USS Lexington. He served in various other ships & stations until the war ended. A. member of the Moose Lodge, Machinist's Union, American Legion-Post 29, a retiree of the WV Union Club, and a AFSCME Council #97 Club retiree member.
He will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Ida; his children, Donna Brown (Paul), Lucille Heine (Gary), and Michael Michelsen (Gisele); 9 grandchildren, Patrick, Jonathan, Melinda, Christopher, Craig, Carrie, Michelle, Jill, Jaime; 12 great-grandchildren: Robert, Katlin, Thomas, Mitchell, Cole, Andrew, Sa muel, Brennan, Emma, Anthony, Barry, Christopher.
Visitation Friday, November 29, 2002 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N. 59th Ave. Glendale, Az. where the Funeral Ceremony will be on Saturday, November 30, 2002. The Interment will be at the Altar at 1:30 P.M. Monday, December 2, 2002 at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, Az. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2929 E. Thomas Rd. Phoenix, AZ. 85016 or to the Arizona Lung Association 102 W. McDowell Rd. Phoenix, AZ. 85003.
