Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona November 10, 1983 Hal Kreft, 73, prominent Wickenburg realtor and former owner of American Realty, died in aSan Digo Hospital on Sept. 8 after an illness of several months. Mr. Kreft bought American Realty in 1970 and later, Hilltop Realty in Yarnell. A highlight of the career was being named “Realtor of the Year” in 1973 by the Glendale West Maricopa Board of Realtors. He also served as chairman of the Public Relations and Legislative committees of the Arizona Association of Realtors. Prior to moving to Wickenburg, the Krefts lived in Kingman, where Hal started Flying K. Realty with a branch office in Lake Havasu City. During his years there appointed by then-Governor Jack Williams, Kreft served on the Arizona Development Board representing Mohave County, A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the 115th Liaison Squadron in the CBI Theater. A pilot, he owned and flew his own plane for many years after moving to Wickenburg. He was a past president of Rotary and a past commander of an American legion Post in Missouri. Survivors are his wife, Lorraine, of Wickenburg and son Douglas, of Tempe. A memorial service for Mr. Kreft will be conducted at the Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg on Sept. 17 at 11 a.m.
