GRIFFINS, Ellen

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona March 3, 1983 Ellen Griffins, 75, died on Feb. 18. She had lived in Wickenburg for 11 years. After receiving her nurse’s training in Oskaloosa and Davenport, Iowa. She worked at Mercy Hospital in Oskaloosa. After four years, she married Virgil Shaw in 1934. She is survived by her husband, Virgil Shaw, of Wickenburg; one son, Monty Shaw of Tempe; one daughter, Mary Ellen (Shaw) Helblig of Phoenix, two brothers, Harold Freeman of Oskaloosa and Homer Freeman of Raymore, Mo.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchildren. Services were Feb 23 at the Assembly of God Church, where she was a member. Terry Finley officiated. Interment was in Garden View Memorial located in Mesa.
