SCHMOYER, Raymond Clyde


Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona February 3, 1983 Raymond Clyde Schmoyer, 67, died in the Wickenburg community Hospital following prolonged illnesses. Although Schmoyer was born in Chickasha, Okla., prior to his forced retirement, he had been cowboying in Wyoming since he was 11 years old. He had lived with his son, Wayne Schmoyer, in Wickenburg for the past two years. Schmoyer was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and fought during World War II as a combat Army engineer for MacArthur’s Jungleers. Graveside services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. and interment followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Paul Wright, a local western personality, recited “A cowboy’s Prayer” at the graveside and services were directed by the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Schmoyer is survived locally by a son Wayne Schmoyer and two grandchildren, Phillips and Debi Schmoyer. He also survived by a daughter Mary Lou Fullerton, a Wyoming resident, and five other grandchildren. Schmoyer is survived out-of-state by three sisters and one brother. They include a sister, Farrell, who lives in Portland, Ore.; sister, Mrs. Ruth Jacques, a Casper, Wyo. resident; sister, Beryl Collins of Cheyenne, Wyo., and a brother Marion, a Montana resident.
