Robert F. Echeverria, 59, partner in the Cross Mountain Sheep Company, R.I. Sheep Company and president of the Echeverria Hay Company, died on May 7 at his brother’s home in Denver.
He was born in Glendale and moved to Casa Grande 35 years ago from Wickenburg. He represented Arizona on the All-American High School Football Team in 1942, served in the Navy during World War II, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Anthony’s Parish and was a supporter of school athletics in Casa Grande. He was also a trustee of the Arizona Wool Growers Association.
He is survived by his mother Victoria; his wife, Bertha; two sons, Robert and Vencient of Casa Grande; two daughters, Cecille Rodgers and Laura Miller of Casa Grande; five brothers, Roy Longmont of Colorado, Donald of Phoenix, Mike, Julio and Ruby of Casa Grande; four sisters, Josephine Pemberton of Wickenburg, Laura Ferris of Nevada, Glady Miller of Phoenix, Yvonne of Tempe and seven grandchildren.
A rosary was recited on May 10 at his church.
