James A. Luckett died at his Wickenburg home Saturday, March 19.
He was born near Montgomery City, Mo., Nov. 23, 1911, and received his schooling there. Moving to Wyoming in 1929, he worked there on a ranch. Later he owned and operated a cattle ranch.
In 1947 he moved to California and operated and owned several businesses.
The last 14 years before retirement he was secretary-manager of the Chico, Calif., Elks Lodge and manager of a catering corporation. He was a member of the Chico Elks Lodge, Exchange Club and First Presbyterian Church in Chico.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Mary Ann Steimer and Sue Ellen Kolecany; six sisters, Mary Davis, Madeline Grey, Marguerite Benny, Virginia Bishop, Frances Thompson and Barbara Crossley. One brother, David; two stepsons and four grandchildren.
A memorial services was conducted at the First Presbyterian Church on March 21. Burial will be in the Luckett Cemetery in New Hope, Mo.
