SANDRA K. WELCHER, WINTERSET
Sandra K. (Sandie) Welcher was born Sept. 13, 1954, in Chandler, Ariz. She worked as a secretary and receptionist for several years, but her real passion was writing. She had written many poems and was working on a novel. Sandie traveled a lot in her earlier years, following her father’s career in the Navy.
Sandie is survived by her parents, Don and Margaret (Osborn) Bittenger; two sisters, Cherita (Ed) Snyder of Winterset and Trish (J.R.) Crone of Stafford, Va.; several nieces and nephews, Karri (Jerry) Ammann and son, Dylan, Chad (Angie) Snyder and daughter, Cassidy, Monica (Juston) Smith and son, Cohen, Bryan (Betsy) Snyder, and Megan Crone; and friends from all over the United States.
She was preceded in death by her son, Justin Crawford.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, Feb. 16, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pam Kerr officiating.
Burial of the cremains took place at Winterset Cemetery.
