VALLEJOS, Carlos (Guerro)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/07/2003 Carlos "Guerro" Vallejos Guerro Vallejos, 57, died Feb. 26, 2003 in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. He was born in St. Johns Feb. 2, 1946 to Emelia and Isabel Vallejos. Many knew him as Carlos, some knew him by Charlie, but he was known mostly to everyone as Guerro, a nickname he acquired as a young boy. He is survived by his three children; Isabella, Felipe and Eleanor and ten grandchildren; five brothers and four sisters, Willie and Daniel of St. Johns, Pat and Ernie of Phoenix, Pula of Henderson, Nevada, Estafana Garcia of Grants, New Mexico, MaryAnn Griego and Priscilla Vallejos of St. Johns and Lottie Rines of Eagar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emelia and Isabel; a son, Joseph who died March 6, 2002; a brother, Herman; and sister, Antonia Gonzales. A rosary was held March 2 at the St. Johns Catholic Church, and funeral mass was held Monday, March 3 with Father Frank Chacon officiating. He was laid to rest at the St. Johns East Side Cemetery.
