Laura Saline, 83, died at her home in Taylor Thursday, March 13, 2003.
Laura was born and raised in Taylor. She attended elementary school here and graduated from Snowflake Union High School. She then attended college in Flagstaff where she received her Teachers Certificate. She taught junior high and high school English for most of her life, for a total of 35 years, teaching in Pima, Safford, Snowflake and Chinle. Laura retired in 1987.
She married LaRoy Saline in 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and held several positions in the various auxiliaries of the church. She and her husband also served missions and worked in the Mesa Temple together. She was an active member and past President of the Navajo County Historical Society.
Laura is survived by five sons, James LaRoy Saline of Safford, Alma (Marilyn) Saline of Taylor, David K. Saline of Taylor, Sanford (Marilyn) Saine of Hurricane, Utah and Henry (Toni) Saline of Snowflake; one sister-in-law, Ida Hunt of Winslow; 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and four sons.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 18 at the Taylor Love Lake Chapel of the LDS Church with Bishop Vance Muder officiating.
Interment will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 18 at the Pima Cemetery in Pima.
