POPE, Elsie

Mrs. Elsie Pope, 76, a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, died yesterday (Jan. 2, 1970) in St. Luke's Hospital.  Mrs. Pope, 2129 W. Palmaire, was born in New Paltz, N. Y., and came to Phoenix in 1956 from Newark, N. J.  

Survivors include her husband, J. Arthur; three sons, C. Alan of Phoenix, George A. of Tucson and James, Jr., of Ottawa, Illinois; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  

Services will be at 7 p.m. today in Grimshaw's Bethany Chapel, 710 W. Bethany Home. Cremation will follow.  The family suggests contributions to the church, 4735 N. 19th Ave.
