Nick VanSant of Alamagordo, N. M., died Friday, Juen 18, 1993, in Alamogordo. He was 78.
Mr. VanSant was born June 18, 1915, in Van Tassel, Wyoming.
He has been a resident of Alamogordo since 1981 and was formerly of Chadron, Nebraska, where he had owned and operated the Mobile Oil Service Station until his retirement in 1979.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Alamogordo; a life member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge of Chadron; and a member of the Oddfellows Hall of Chadron.
Mr. VanSant is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Pat" VanSant; daughters Joan Whitley of Wickenburg, Linda Marshall of Holyoke, Colorado, Marjorie Hinman of Alliance, Neb., and Becky Davison of Alamogordo; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother Newt VanSant of Boise, Idaho; and a sister Eliza Totter of Oakridge, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his first wife, LaVerne VanSant, in 1945.
Services have been held, with the Rev. Rick Eichenlaub and Pastor George Brown officiating.
Interment was in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo.
