Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Saturday, February 20, 2010 Gilbert B. Ramirez, 63, formerly of Flagstaff, died suddenly Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, in Phoenix. Mr. Ramirez was born Oct. 23, 1946, in Flagstaff. He lived in Phoenix for the last 37 years and was owner of Green Earth Lawn Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. There, he earned four bronze Service Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation Badge and the Civil Actions Honor Medal. He enjoyed owning and showcasing classic cars, cooking, catering and entertaining family and friends. He was a very loving, caring and giving father, son, brother, uncle and friend who loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all. Mr. Ramirez is survived by daughters Angie Ramirez of Phoenix and Vanessa (Mario) Rochin of Phoenix; former wife Teresa Ramirez of Phoenix; four grandchildren; sister Margaret (Richard) Boustedt of Cottonwood, Edward "Chuco" (Dolores) of New River and Rosemary (Tony) Ramirez of Phoenix; Paul Jr. (Dolores) of Flagstaff; and 10 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Fedolina B. and Pablo "Paul" R. Ramirez of Flagstaff. Services were Friday at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
