MARQUIS, Mae

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, April 22, 2003 Mae Marquis, 93 resident of Mesa passed away April 19, 2003. Mae arrived in Phoenix from Colorado Springs, Colorado with her husband Bill and Daughter Beverly in 1944. Together they owned & operated two different Motels including Canary Court Motel. Mae was active in community work over the years. Her volunteer work included everything from helping with her daughter's activities at Phoenix Union High School to working with physically & mentally challenged children through her church. Mae also worked for Goldwaters Robinson May for 30 years. She enjoyed summer times in Lakeside Pinetop at the cabin she & Bill built. She embodied all of the values & principles that have come to define Americas Greatest Generation. We will miss her love, faithfulness, thoughtfulness & smiles. Funeral services will be held on Thur. April 24th at 3 PM with visitation 2 hours prior at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary 719 N. 27th Avenue. Courtesy of Pat Wilson.
