The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, April 22, 2003 Adelaide M. Svitak, 70, of Mesa, AZ passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2003 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Holy Cross Catholic Church 1244 South Power Road in Mesa. Burial will be in rural Stanton County Nebraska. Adelaide was a treasured and respected teacher at the elementary school level for over 40 years in both Nebraska country school and the Mesa Public Schools district. Survivors include; her husband of 47 years, Vernon Svitak Sr.; daughter Patricia Svitak-Larkins; son Vernon Svitak Jr.; brother Joe Erychleb; and sister Betty Thomas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Joseph and Adelaide Erychleb. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to: The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Desert Mountain States Chapter 2990 E.
