Anthony L. (Tony) Kenney of Detour Village, Mich. and Circle City, AZ, died Friday, May 21, 1993, at his home in Circle City. He was 71.
He was born June 23, 1921 at Newberry, Michigan, and had been a winter visitor to Arizona for the past eight years.
He had worked for the CCC's and the Conservation department in the U. P. and had been a Sergeant for the U. S. Marines. He was a 30-year veteran of the Muskegon Police Department, and was the Chief of Police there from 1971 until his retirement in 1977. After his retirement from the police department he became a licensed builder in the U. P. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying, building homes and gardening.
He married Betty L. Brenzie on March 23, 1944. She survives. Other survivors include daughter and son-in-law Gail and Joel Mars of Traverse City, Mich.; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kathy Kenney of Chelsea, Mich.; grandchildren, Stacy and Andy Mars and Patrick, Erin and Kelly Kenney. He was preceded in death by his parents Reginald and Lillian Kenney.
Cremation rites have been held and memorial services will be held at a later date.
