Don Rappelye
Don Rappelye Huey. In Loving Memory. Born October 9, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri. Died June 20, 2003 in Sun City, Arizona.
Don leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy, two of four children, Terry Huey of Dayton, OH and Sherry Huey of Chandler, AZ. Also, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Don met his charming wife during World War II, and they married in Dodge City, KS. Don was a B-26 pilot and flew missions over Germany and France. After the war, he graduated at the Missouri School of Mines and had a 27 year career as an electrical engineer at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, OH.
Don spent his years serving his church faithfully, attending to the needs of his family and giving support and loving guidance to everyone whose lives he touched. He was a man of high standards and great compassion. He peacefully slipped away from this world on the 20th of June at the Sun Health Hospice in Peoria, AZ. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (06/25/2003) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 108th Ave and Coggins Dr., Sun City, AZ with visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Donations may be made to Sun Health Hospice, 12740 N. Plaza Del Rio Blvd., Peoria, AZ 85381. Sunland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
