SIKES, Coy J.

Coy J. Sikes, died Friday, June 20, 2003 in Maricopa, Arizona following a lengthy illness. He was 78. Coy was born April 19, 1925 in Joplin, Missouri to the late John & Nettie (Porter) Sikes. He moved to Arizona 58 years ago and was a longtime Chandler resident. Mr. Sikes was a Navy veteran and worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Highway Department for many years.

He is survived by his daughters: Rhonda Thoresz (Tom), Patricia Elkovitch (Cody); sons: Tom Sikes (Robin), Robert Bluemer (Becky); brother, Willard; sister, Betty; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at The Chapel of Ruder Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive in Chandler AZ. The funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday at the mortuary. Interment will follow at the City of Mesa Cemetery.
