WATSON, William J. (Bill)


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, April 23, 2003 William J. (Bill) Watson, 68, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on April 15, 2003 from Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He has lived in Phoenix since 1947 and was a part time resident of one of his favorite areas Greer, AZ. Bill was a graduate from North Phoenix High School and attended Phoenix College. In addition, Bill took all the transportation classes available at ASU. He was a salesman at Consolidated Freightways and CF Air Freight for 11 years. In 1981, he founded Watson Enterprises, a transportation brokerage. In 1991, he became CEO of Watson Williams Freight Agency, Inc. He was a member of the National Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, Quail Unlimited, and has served on the Natural Resources Discussion Group at the AZ House of Representatives. He is survived by his wife Dorothy of 49 years, his daughter Diana Watson Williams, grandson Aaron J. Williams, and two brothers, Jack Watson & wife Marlee of Yuma, and Bob Watson & wife Pat of Dewey, AZ; brother-in-law Don Stromberg & wife Shirley of Enumclaw, WA. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2003 at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ.
