CHILDERS, James E.

James E. Childers, 71, of Phoenix AZ passed away Sunday, June 22, 2003. Mr. Childers was born April 4, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Everett and Mary Childers. He served in the U.S. Army and in 1955 James moved to Arizona from Indiana. On March 3, 1957 he married his beloved wife, the late Betty J. Childers. They were married 43 years. For 30 years he worked for Cudahay Bar-S Meat Packing Co. After his retirement from Cudahay Bar-S he worked for 18 years for the Roosevelt School District as head custodian. James did much volunteer work at the school working with the children. James is survived by his children, Jim I.; Norma L.; Stacy M.; Bryan E.; and Mark K. Childers, Eddie Watson, and the late Denise Brown. He is also survived by his beloved 6 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25, 2003 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Valley of the Sun Mausoleum Chapel followed by the funeral on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. in the Mausoleum Chapel with interment in Valley of the Sun Cemetery.
