COATES, James (Gabriel)

James (Gabriel) Coates, 87, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away June 20, 2003. James was born March 25, 1916 in Chicago, Ill. Retired from the Post Office. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran. James was a loving husband, devoted father and caring grandpa. He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Coates also of Chicago, Ill. James and Helen came to Arizona in the 1940's and lived here 60 years.

He leaves behind and will be dearly missed by his sister Katherine Ezel of Chicago, Ill. 2 children James Coates Jr., Paula (Dave) Gierek, 3 grandchildren, Robert (Kristi) Antoine, Danielle, and Laura. And 2 great-grandchildren, James, Erick, and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at St. Gregory's Catholic Church at 11am, Friday June 27, 2003, 3424 N. 18th Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85015. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley Fund, c/o (Gardiner Home) 1510 W. Flower St, Phoenix, AZ 85014. Arrangements by Rude Family Northwest Mortuary 602-266-8000
