McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel Safford, Arizona May 21, 1915 - February 22, 2010 Ruth Irene Malloque, 94 of Safford passed away February 22, 2010 in Safford. Irene was born May 21, 1915 in Noxapater, Mississippi to Kenneth King Horne and Sadie Lee Yarbrough Horne. She was reared and educated in Liberty, Mississippi later moving to Arizona in the early 1940's. Irene married Louis Malloque in 1942 and lived in Morenci for 38 years while Louis worked for Phelps Dodge. He retired in 1977 and they moved to Safford. Irene enjoyed taking care of her cactus and flower garden, quilting and working puzzles. She will be missed by the many people she touched. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Louis, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her Daughter - Norma L. Malloque of Thatcher; Sons – Kenneth Frank (Jeanette) Malloque of Safford and Lynn Edward (Arlene) Malloque of Thatcher, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, sister Inis of Virginia and brothers Joe Horne of Washington & Reginald Horne of Mississippi. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church of Thatcher. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel. Irene will be laid to rest in the Safford Cemetery.
