Verna May Billington, 87, died April 24, 2003 at the Infinia Nursing Home in Show Low where she had resided for three years.
The family extends their warm thoughts to the staff of Infinia for their care of Verna. She will be remembered with great affection and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was born in De Smet, South Dakota, Jan. 20, 1916.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Peter M. Billington, her mother, Ida Haufle; her brothers, John Haufle and Russell Haufle; her sister Ruth Haufle, Arlene Haufle and Lula Fritzel.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Diedrich and Pam Lugowski and son-in-law Rick Logowski, all of Show Low; grandson, Carl Diedrich (Kimberly) of South St. Paul, Minnesota; grandson, Peter Lugowski (Kim) and; great-grandchildren Alley and Jack of Phoenix; grandson, Paul Diedrich (Carrick) of Maricopa; and great-grandchild Colbie; granddaughter, Lynette Gillen (Chris) and great-grandchildren Stephen and Liam of Winnepeg, Manitoba; granddaughter, Richelle Donnelly (Gary) and great-grandchildren Dawson, Tori, Payton, McCall, and Parker of Phoenix; granddaughter Barbara Geiger (Rich) and great-grandchild Jonah Luke of Austin, Texas. An additional two great-grandchildren are expected this year. She is also survived by brother Bud Haufle and sister-in-law, Jean Haufle of DeSmet, South Dakota and brother Ivan Haufle, Hendrick, Iowa.

Viewing was private and cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of Verna's life will be held Saturday, May 3 at 11 a.m. at Owens Mortuary, 320 N. 9th, Show Low for all friends of the family.
