AVERETT, Ray Nielson


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 05/06/2003 Ray Averett, 52, died April 25. 2003 in Phoenix. He was born July 18, 1950 in Worland, Wyoming and lived in Concho. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, spiritual leader, man of God who spent his life in service to others; president of the Concho Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife Peggy; son Daniel Averett of Florence; step-son Patrick Sarrels of Tucson; daughter Angela Averett of Concho; and step-daughter Amanda Morrison of Concho; sisters, Jacqueline Tew of Grand Junction, Colorado, Penny Judkin of Vancouver, Washington; brother Larry Averett of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Layne Bowerman and Hollye Bowerman. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Funeral services was held April 30 in St. Johns with burial in Binghampton Cemetery in Tucson. Jewkes Mortuary handled arrangements.
