The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 05/09/2003 Ian Shane Smith, 12, died May 2, 2003 in Snowflake. Ian was born Sept. 18, 1990 in Show Low. He was a resident of Taylor and a sixth grade student. He is survived by his parents, Dale and Mary Smith of Taylor; grandparents, Charles and Fran Smith of Taylor, and Ken and Mary Lue Barnes of Snowflake; sisters, Chantel Kim Smith and Tawny Smith; brother, Terrin Smith; aunts, Cyndy Brooks (Ron) and family, Susan Barnes and family, Sherel Jennison (Kevin) and family; uncles, Wendell Smith (Lisa) and family, Alan Smith and family, John Barnes (Susan) and family, Dean Barnes (Lorien) and family, Dan Barnes and family and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9 at the Stake Center in Taylor at 11 a.m. with Bishop Jim Gibson officiating. Interment will be in the Snowflake Cemetery. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Taylor handled arrangements.
