Richard Thomas
Richard Thomas Pullen, 80, of Sun City, AZ, passed away on December 25, 2002. He was born in Portland, Maine on August 6, 1922 and is known as Tommy to his Maine family and Richard to his Phoenix family and friends.
During WWII he served as Chief Pharmacist Mate in the Navy Medical Corp. Richard led a varied, entrepreneur career in restaurant management, real estate and various service businesses. After retirement he became very active in various Sun City organizations including President of the Republican Club, Delegate to the
Republican National Convention in 1996. Organized the "Ring That Bell" Ceremony on July 4th, Precinct Committeeman dedicated to encouraging youth to be politically active and vote, 9 years with Toastmasters - taught youth leadership at Dysart and Peoria High Schools and served as a Volunteer at Boswell Hospital.
He is survived by daughters, Heidi Pullen and Julie Ruth Pullen; her partner Jennifer and their daughter, Emma; sons, Christopher, his wife Patti, their children Michael, Shaffer and Elizabeth, Scott, his wife Carroll Ann, their daughters, Lyndsay and Kymberly, Wes Schroder, his wife Emily, their children, Brad and Kristi and great-grandchildren Ashley, Brittany and Christian. Richard also is survived by Connie Nelson, his best friend and dear companion in life; brother, Leon; sisters, Dorothy deRenzy and Ruth Ristich.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2003, St. Clements Catholic Church, 15800 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. Arrangements by Hansen Mortuary.
