John Scott, 77, of Tampa FL, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2003, in Tampa. A Memorial service will be held at 10am on Sat., June 28th at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 9724 Cross Creek Blvd in Tampa. John (nee Jonas Skarzinskas) came to the US in 1949 after WWII and settled in Rockford, Illinois. John was an electrician at Barnes Drill in Rockford, IL, and later worked at the Chrysler Plant in Belvedere, IL. He was a member of the IBEW, UAW and the Lithuania Club of Rockford, IL. He retired in 1991 and his retirement years were spent in Phoenix, AZ and Tampa, FL. Life, learning and family were John's greatest passions. A warm smile and a good joke were his trademarks. He could always be counted on to put the good, the bad and the absurd into perspective. His life mirrored his belief that hard work and good effort earn their own rewards. He is already missed by his surviving son, John Scott of Tampa, FL, and daughters, Virginia Richter of Phoenix, AZ and Regina Skarzinskas of Portland, OR, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandsons. He was married for 35 years to Danute Bubelis, who predeceased him in 1987.
