HALFPAP, Norman


The Daily Courier, Prescott, AZ Tuesday, February 23, 2010 Norman Halfpap was born on Sept. 8, 1922, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and died on Feb. 18, 2010, at Good Samaritan Care Center, Prescott Valley, Ariz. He was the son of Laura (nee Stadtmueller) and Albert Halfpap. After graduation from Ft. Dodge High School, he obtained a degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University, followed by two years in the Navy as a lieutenant (jg) in the amphibious forces, and two years at the University of Colorado Law School at Boulder. The major portion of his career consisted of Chief of Specifications for HNTB, a consulting engineering firm specializing in the design of highway and railroad bridges, plus significant portions of the Interstate Highway System. He was a Fellow and Life Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. After retiring in 1987, he and Trudy left their home in the Kansas City area to enjoy the climate and friendly people of Prescott, Ariz. Norman leaves his wife Trudy of 59 years; three children; and one grandchild. There will be a private gathering of family to honor Norman's life.
