Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Wednesday, Dec 30th, 2009 Lee Spry, 93, of Globe, Ariz., passed away on Dec. 27, 2009 at his home on Golden Hill. He was born on May 7, 1916 in Callaway, Minn. and moved to Arizona in 1939. Lee leaves behind in loving memory his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Spry; his daughter, Carole Chism and her husband George Chism, of Arizona; six grandchildren, Kim Doke, Christina Garcia, Nathan Spry, of Nevada, Debbie Hunter, of Texas, Mike Chism, and Paul Chism, of California; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Spry; and great-granddaughters, Lori Spry and Allyssa Chism. Lee worked as a contract miner for 44 years. After retirement in 1980, he made a trip to Alaska. Lee loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing and camping, and traveling and visiting the family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 at Trinity Baptist Church on Hagen Road. Interment will be at Mountain Breeze Memorial. Lamont Mortuary of Globe is assisting the family.
