Thomas Tilman Pendley II, 87, of Phoenix, died Feb. 23, 2010, in Phoenix. He was born Feb. 22, 1923, in Clemenceau, the oldest son of Frank and Jane Pendley.
Mr. Pendley attended Flagstaff High School and Arizona State University. He operated the family farm at Slide Rock in Oak Creek Canyon until its sale as an Arizona State Park in 1985.
He fully enjoyed his retirement and the travel he and his wife, Dorothy, were able to experience. He was an active Republican party member and was always happy to discuss politics. He was all about family and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Pendley is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Dorothy, of Phoenix; daughters Kathy (Ed) Shaw of Flagstaff and Karen (John) Harkey of Flagstaff; son Tom (Kathy) Pendley III of Phoenix; three grandchildren; and sister Nina Lovett of Cottonwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank L. and Jane H. Pendley; brothers Don and Frank Pendley; and sisters Jill Jonovich, Eva Young, Patricia Rueger, Marge Theriault and Joy Odell.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Life in Christ Lutheran Church, Peoria.
