The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, April 24, 2003 Irene (Myers) Evans, age 92, of Warren, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at her residence in Warren, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Susan (Williamson) Myers born in Toronto, Ohio on February 15, 1911. Irene was a graduate of Kent State University and attended Bethany College in Wheeling, WV. Irene married the late Wilbur Evans in 1939, he preceded her in death on March 6, 2003. Irene and Wilbur were residents of Warren since 1941 moving here from Wayland, Ohio. Irene worked as an elementary teacher for 27 years. She taught at Cross Creek, Twp., Toronto, OH and Warren City Schools at Devon elementary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Warren, she was also a Past Matron Of Eastern Star in Toronto, Kappa Delta At Bethany College, and Retired Teachers Assoc. She is preceded in death by her son, J William Evans and 7 brothers and sisters; Albert, Arthur, Cecil, Ralph, Edward, Grace Trimmer and Elizabeth Myers. Irene is survived by, one daughter, Kae Evans Fallon of Beaufort, SC; and seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio. Calling hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, April 27, 2003 from 3-5pm The funeral will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am, Monday, April 28, 2003.
