The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 10/10/2003 (May 31, 1938 - October 3, 2003) Richard C. Kott, Sr., 65, died Oct. 3, 2003 at his home in Snowflake. He was born in Chamberlain, South Dakota and has lived in Arizona since 1993. He was a mechanical engineer for Hughes Aircraft. The world lost a great man. He will be missed by his family, by the many he opened his doors to and shared his home with, to the countless others he helped, no matter what the cost or pain to himself. If a man's greatness was measured not by the wealth he accumulates or the success he has, but by the love he creates, then Richard was a king. With tears in their eyes and a pain in their hearts, his memory will be carried on in his wife Donna of Snowflake; daughter, Lori (Tom) Jakary of Show Low; three sons, Richard (Kim) of Snowflake, Jeff and Jim of California; and eight grandchildren, Ciji, Kyrra, Joshua, Scott, Arianna, Gabrielle, Breanna and Eric. Grave side services were held Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Taylor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the White Mountain Hospice Foundation, 5658 Hwy 260 Suite 5, Lakeside, AZ 85929. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake handled arrangements.
