The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/26/2010 Jerry J. Croney, 57, of Show Low died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at a Mesa hospital. He was born April 9, 1952, at Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Norman and Margorie (Lundgren) Croney. He was reared and attended school at Soda Springs, Idaho, until moving to Paradise Valley in the late '60s. He graduated from Paradise Valley High School in 1970 and attended Arizona State University. He was married to the former Theodora "Teddy" Mezes Aug. 19, 1975, at Las Vegas, Nev. He spent most of his work years in the theater industry. He formed JJ Croney Associates, which was a computer systems company. It was listed in Inc. 500 as the 63rd fastest growing company in the country. He sold the company in 2000 and came to Show Low where he purchased the theater and the one at Lakeside. His business associations included the Pinetop-Lakeside Chamber of Commerce, Main Street, Ad and Pro and the National Association of Theater Owners. He enjoyed music, the pipe organ, fishing, flying, computers and grilling food. Survivors include his wife Teddy of the home; two sons Lanny R. Croney and Jerry E. Croney of Show Low; sister Marcy Squire (Mark) of Phoenix and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lawrence Croney. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Community Presbyterian Church of Pinetop, 1940 S. Penrod Lane with Pastor Tom Berry officiating. Memorials may be made to Community Presbyterian Church or the Love Kitchen. Arrangements are under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
