MARKOVICH, Eli L.

The Prescott Daily Courier, Prescott, AZ - February 27, 2010 Eli L. Markovich Our dad died unexpectedly on Feb. 16, 2010. He had recently moved to Phoenix from Prescott, Ariz. Dad was born in 1924 and grew up in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Illinois before joining the Army during WWII. He served in the Pacific Theatre until the end of the war. Moving back to Detroit, dad married our mom, Eve, in 1951. Mom and Dad retired to Prescott in 1991. Dad lost the love of his life in 1998. Dad worked as a manufacturing engineer in the aerospace industry. He retired in 1990 from Williams International, where he worked on the Patriot Cruise Missile system and the jet pack demonstrated at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. Dad loved the outdoors and gardening and his barbecue skills were second to none. He played several sports during his life but his true passion was bowling. The true measure of a person can be found in the relationships they have with the people they encounter during their lifetime. Our dad's life was truly immeasurable. Dad was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Martha; wife Eve; sister Helen Waite; brother John Markovich; and two infant sisters. Dad leaves behind his sister Joann and husband Hans Roehl, Fran Jones, partner of Sue Markovich, brother-in-law Ray Waite, sister-in-law Virginia Phillips, many, many nieces and nephews, friends and former co-workers. We are very grateful for all the people who touched and were touched by our dad during his life. In loving memory, Pat and Sue Markovich. Information provided by survivors.
