Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel Goodyear, Arizona Charles Leon, 95, of Avondale formerly of Tucson and California died December 22, 2009 at home. He was born June 14, 1914 to Angela and Ramon Leon. He worked as a construction superintendent in the Los Angeles area for 40 years and was a life member of the Carpenters Union. He moved to Arizona in 1975 from Whittier, CA for retirement and the weather. Charles received the Purple Heart and the Silver Star in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He married Virginia in Mexico in 1946. He is survived by his wife Virginia, daughter Mary sons David and Daniel, sister Jane, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Monday January 4, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Hope Cemetery 3555 North Oracle Road Tucson, AZ.
