WOOD, Clarence E.

Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel Goodyear, Arizona Clarence E. Wood, 94, of Goodyear, AZ, died February 14, 2010. He was born January 17, 1916 in Leighton, AL, to Charlie & Mattie Wood. He moved to Arizona in 1948 from the San Francisco Bay area. Clarence was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. He also worked as a refrigeration and A/C tech as a civilian employee at the Naval Air Facility at Litchfield Park and Luke Air Force Base. He joined the Peoria Masonic Lodge in 1952, transferring to the Acacia Lodge in Avondale in 1953 where he finished his degree work and became a Master Mason. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice Wood, in 2002. He is survived by his wife Eva Amanda Wood, son Dennis Wood, sister Methyl Grissom, brother Auborn Wood, grandchildren Ana Lilia, Dane London and great-grandchildren, Natasha, Tatiauna, Dane Aston, Daylea, Canon, Delaney, Torrina and Hunter. Visitation is 5-9:00p.m. Thursday February 25th at Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel 926 S. Litchfield Road Goodyear, AZ. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday February 26th at National Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix, AZ.
