KLING, George William


George William Kling, of Fountain Hills, Arizona, passed away on June 17, 2003 at age 64 due to heart failure. He was born February 6, 1939 in Englewood, New Jersey to Anne and John Kling. In 1961, his senior year at Wagner College, Staten Island, New York, he was selected by the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. Soon after he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served with the 513th Military Intelligence Corps in Frankfurt, Ger-many. George was a football coach at Fountain Hills High School in 2001 and 2002 and a member of the Fountain Hills American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Judy, of Fountain Hills, sons Lance Kling of San Diego, California, and Bryan Buckmaster of Torrance, Califor-nia, daughters Paige Brown of Denver, Colorado and Meghan Stephenson of Orono, Minnesota, and brother John Kling of Abingdon, Virginia. George has six grandchildren Morgan, Payton and Miles Brown of Denver, Colorado and Revis, William, and Hadley Stephenson of Orono, Minnesota. Services will be held on Saturday June 28, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ's Church of Fountain Hills, 15555 East Bainbridge Avenue, Fountain Hills, Arizona 85268.
