PRESTON,
Dorothy A.
Dorothy A. Preston, 75, of Phoenix AZ, loving wife of Howard (Hap), mother of Jim, Julia, and Jeff, passed away during the evening of June 23, 2003. Her children were at her side as she entered the realm of the angels.
Dorothy's life was filled with the love of friends and family. She was a gifted teacher and an inspiration in her quiet battle against racism and discrimination. She was immediately accepting of new people and ideas, and a lover of words and travel. Dorothy was a teacher of uncommon ability, an educator in the truest sense. Dorothy never met a stranger. Along with Hap she befriended everyone she encountered. She was blessed with knowing wonderful people throughout her life, both here in Arizona and the places she lived before moving here in 1963.
In addition to her husband, her children and eight grandchildren: Jenny, Matt, Michelle, Kevin, Eric, Brynn, Andrew and TJ, Dorothy is survived by her sister Marlys, her son-in-law Tim, and her daughters-in-law Clancy and Jenifer.
Because of the wonderful care she received there, the family is requesting donations be made to Hospice of Arizona.
