Donald Timothy Roderick, Sr., 66, died April 22, 2003 in Gilbert, Arizona.
He was a respected member of the Avondale, Goodyear community for many years. After retiring from Luke A.F.B. as a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, he became the Director of Operations for Agua Fria Union High School. Later, he spent several years as an assistant to the Pastor, doing whatever was needed at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Goodyear.
In addition, Don was the founder and co-owner of Steppin' Out Dance Centre. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, City of Avondale's IDA Board and a past president of Avondale Elementary Schools P.T.A.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Carleen Roderick. He is loved and will be missed by his wife, Cecelia Roderick; 3 daughters: Sandy Kennedy, Cindy Owens, and Nichole Swanson; 3 sons: Steve, Don Jr., and Dan Roderick; 1 brother, E.T. Roderick; 1 sister, Pam Carter; 7 stepchildren: Sara Welchert, Ann Perez, Andrew, Molly, Kate and Ben Van Horn and Emily Roderick; 23 grand-children with two grand-children on the way.
Visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM, Monday, April 28 and funeral mass at 9:00 AM, Tuesday, April 29th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 539 E. La Pasada Blvd., Goodyear, AZ.
