BEUERMAN, Donald Roy

Daily Miner, Kingman, Arizona - 2/7/2010 Donald Roy Beuerman passed away peacefully in his sleep early Friday morning, Jan. 29, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife of 57 years, Irma Beuerman; and his brother, Virgil Beuerman. He leaves behind his daughter, Donna (Fran) Pepper of Marshall, Ill.; three sons, Keith (Charlene) Beuerman of Cut Bank, Mont., and Dave and Mark (Linda) Beuerman of Boise, Idaho. Also surviving are three brothers, Merton, Everett, and Howard; 10 grandchildren; and many friends. Don was born March 16, 1928, in Stanton, Neb., to Adolph Augustiv Beuerman and Mabel Elizabeth Baumgartner. He was married to Irma Lehman in Paton, Iowa, on Aug. 18, 1950, in a service conducted by his father, Rev. Adolph Beuerman. Both he and Irma were educators, starting their careers together teaching in Persia, Iowa. He was then drafted into the military where he served in Fort Riley, Kan., and Fort Lee, Va. Don proceeded to move around, living in Virginia, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and Iowa while working for Dow and Monsanto Chemical Companies and furthering his education. After receiving degrees from Westmar College - BS, Kansas State University - MS, and Iowa State University - Ph.D., Don moved to Butte, Mont., and served as a professor of Chemistry at the Montana Tech campus of the University of Montana. He retired from the Montana University system in 1990 and began a second career as an independent business owner. After retiring (again) in 1999 from his laboratory/consulting business, Don and his wife Irma moved to Kingman, where they resided until Irma's death in 2007. Don then moved to Bonaventure Place, an assisted-living facility in Boise, Idaho, where he lived prior to passing away. Don leaves his family and friends with many a humorous memory as he was always able to get a smile out of those around him. We ask that anyone touched by Don come join us in sharing those memories at a memorial in his honor at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Hillview United Methodist Church, 8525 Ustick Road in Boise, Idaho. Anyone not able to attend is still encouraged to share their memories by sending them in care of the Beuerman Family, 9837 W. Pattie Drive, Boise, ID 83704.
