Marvin Edward Porter, 70, of Goodyear, AZ, passed away Sunday May 4th in Show Low, AZ, while camping.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Phyillis "Rollins" Porter ; Two sons Randy and wife Cindi Porter of Pima, AZ and Mark Porter of Goodyear; Daughter Kimberly Porter of Avondale, AZ; Eight Grandchildren: Tiffany, Amanda, Jake, Cody, Kelli, Josh, Emily, and Sam; a Great-Grand-daughter Breeanna; Two brothers: Rodney Porter, Sr. of Glendale and Duane Porter of Goodyear; A sister Janice Porter of Phoenix.
Marvin was a meat cutter for Swift Meat Packing Co for many years. He was a member of the Citrus Road Nazarene Church as well as the Palm Glen M B Church, where he was a Deacon. Marvin was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing. He also cherished woodworking and his dog "Brock".
A visitation of family and friends will be held Thursday May 8th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with services following at the Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary. The family suggests contributions to the following organizations: The American Heart Association, American Diabetes Foundation, Spirit of the Desert Church and/or The Citrus Road Nazarene church.
