Kenneth Douglas Lindley, Jr.
Kenneth Douglas Lindley, Jr., age 56, of Show Low, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, in Prescott Valley. Ken was born April 24, 1949, in Eugene, Ore., to Kenneth Douglas Lindley, Sr. and Marilea (Harnley) Lindley.
Ken graduated from Prescott High, Class of '67. He then enlisted in the Navy and served in Vietnam. When Ken returned to the States he began his long and distinguished law enforcement career with DPS. Retiring from DPS in 1992, he then joined the Navajo County Sheriff's Office as a training sergeant. Upon retirement from the Sheriff's Office, Ken then lent his expertise to the MVD and Dept. of Corrections. With law enforcement in his blood, Ken returned to the DPS as a training coordinator for the Rocky Mountain Information Network, a federally funded program that was run by DPS. He enjoyed motorcycle rides.
Ken is survived by his wife, Juddie of Show Low; children, Steve (Deborah) of Windsor, Calif., Traci (Tom) of Phoenix, Richard (Julie) of Buckeye, John of Show Low, Julie of Show Low, Amanda of Show Low and Kenny of Show Low; his mother, Marilea of Chandler; sisters, Mary (David) of Chandler and Debi of Phoenix; granddaughters, Jordan, Jennifer and one on the way; nephews, Darren and Michael; and many, many friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Willow Hills 1st Southern Baptist Church of Prescott, 1071 Mogollon Road, Prescott. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. Pastor Jesse Liles will officiate. Burial will be at the Mountain View Cemetery. Full military honors will be presented by the American Legion Post #6.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Ken's memory be directed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Arizona.
The Hampton Funeral Home of Prescott assisted the family with the arrangements.
