Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona September 10, 1970 Friends of Mrs. Zella Carleton, 95, will be saddened to hear of her death Sept. 4 in an auto accident in Phoenix in which her daughter, Mrs. Margery Rayse was injured. They were on their way home from church. Mrs. Carleton was the mother of Mrs. Jack Schafer of Wickenburg and had lived here with the Schafers for a number of years. A Native of Davenport, Ia., Mrs. Carleton and her family pioneered in the little town of Maricopa, Arizona. She had made her home in this state for more than 50 years. Funeral services were held Sept. 9 at the Four Square Gospel Church in Phoenix and burial was in Cottonwood, Ariz. In addition to Mrs. Rayse and Mrs. Schafer, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Alveta McCluskey, Wickenburg, and Mrs. Belle Kennedy, Phoenix. Also a son, R.C. Brown of Pomona, Calif.; 18 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren
