September 10, 1970
His many, many friends in Wickenburg were saddened to learn of the death of Andrew (Andy) L. Fitzgerald, chief Deputy in the Maricopa County Assessor’s office for many years, which occurred August 26 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Phoenix.
A regular visitor to Wickenburg during his years with the Assessor’s Office, Andy Fitzgerald was an unfailing source of helpfulness, of advice and counsel and practical benefit to the residents of this community who looked upon him as their sincere and dedicated public servant. And he frequently expresses his fondness for the Town of Wickenburg and those with whom he came in contact here.
A native of Cotton Plant, Arkansas, Mr. Fitzgerald, age 48, was a supervisor of the Arkansas Power and Light Co., there before moving to Phoenix 28 years ago. He had been with the County Assessor’s office since 1948.
Sympathies of his friends here are extended to the surviving wife, Kathryn, a son Jon of Phoenix, a brother out of state and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. August 29 in the Hansen Mortuary in Phoenix and burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
